📙 Shock Wave-Boundary-Layer Interactions by Holger Babinsky, John K. Harvey — download pdf

Shock Wave/Boundary Layer Interaction (SBLI) is a fundamental phenomenon in gasdynamics and frequently a defining feature in high speed aerodynamic flowfields. The interactions can be found in practical situations, ranging from transonic aircraft wings to hypersonic vehicles and engines. SBLI's have the potential to pose serious problems and is thus a critical issue for aerospace applications. This is the first book devoted solely to a comprehensive, state of the art explanation of the phenomenon with coverage of all flow regimes where SBLI's occur. The book includes contributions from leading international experts who share their insight into SBLI physics and the impact of these interactions on practical flow situations. This book is aimed at practitioners and graduate students in aerodynamics who wish to familiarise themselves with all aspects of SBLI flows. It is a valuable resource for the specialist because it gathers experimental, computational and theoretical knowledge in one place.

Air-Ice-Ocean Interaction: Turbulent Ocean Boundary Layer Exchange Processes
Air-Ice-Ocean Interaction: Turbulent Ocean Boundary Layer Exchange Processes epub download by Miles McPhee (auth.)

At a time when the polar regions are undergoing rapid and unprecedented change, understanding exchanges of momentum, heat and salt at the ice-ocean interface is critical for realistically predicting the future state of sea ice. By offering a measurement p...

Interaction of Shock Waves
Interaction of Shock Waves epub download by R. S. Srivastava (auth.)

One of the great twentieth-century achievements in the mechanics of fluids was the full elucidation of the physics of shock waves and the later comprehensive development of understanding of how shock waves propagate (i) through otherwise undisturbed fluid...

Systems of Conservation Laws 1: Hyperbolicity, Entropies, Shock Waves free epub by Denis Serre

Systems of conservation laws arise naturally in physics and chemistry. To understand them and their consequences (shock waves, finite velocity wave propagation) properly in mathematical terms requires, however, knowledge of a broad range of topics. This b...
